Our story · Vision, mission & principles

Why POMMARU exists.

Big Adventures Start Small. Our purpose is to give everyday curiosity a story, a question and a way to participate.

Our vision

A world where children see everyday places as opportunities to wonder, explore and discover.

A familiar place can hold a question worth asking. We want the POMMARU world to make room for that question: a child looking a little closer, trying an idea, making something or explaining what they have found. The adventure can begin with the page and continue in ordinary life.

Our mission

To turn young children’s natural curiosity into real-world discovery through stories, activities and adventures that invite them to notice, try, make, tell, think and connect.

That mission shapes the experience. The story gives discovery a reason. The crew demonstrates different approaches. The activity makes room for the child’s contribution. A real-world connection carries the curiosity beyond the illustration, with a responsible grown-up choosing what is suitable.

How the pieces belong together

Colouring + Story + Discovery + Activity + Adventure + Collection. Colouring gives the child a creative way into a scene. Story provides a question to follow. Discovery and activity invite participation. Adventure connects those moments, and the collection idea can give each new chapter a place in a wider world.

The aim is a recognisable POMMARU universe rather than unrelated products carrying the same characters. Books are the current starting point; future resources, missions, collections and merchandise should reinforce the discovery experience. Their availability and what is included will be stated clearly for each approved release.

The principles behind our choices

Children contribute
The child is invited to help the crew discover. Their observations and ideas have a place in the adventure.
The physical experience comes first
A book remains usable without a screen. Digital prompts should have a purpose and an endpoint that returns attention to the real world.
Curiosity comes with care
A grown-up guides safe participation. Nature experiences favour observation, with wildlife and habitat left undisturbed.
Imagination and facts have different jobs
Characters can tell an imaginative story. Information presented about the real world needs to be accurate; learning claims should describe what the activity actually invites.
There is room to participate differently
Children can point, talk, compare, draw or create, with support as needed. The discovery modes do not rank children or define their personalities.
Accounts belong to grown-ups
Purchases, support and preferences belong in the adult account. Child profiles, precise location and personal mission histories do not.

Australian places, a wider world of questions

POMMARU begins with Australian characters, environments and everyday discoveries. The permanent Core Crew is POMMARU the echidna, FEXLO the kangaroo, WOZZI the wombat, TILLI-TU the cockatoo, PLOOBI the frog and TRELBI the blue-banded bee.

Future adventures may explore new environments and introduce story-specific characters while keeping the Core Crew and discovery approach recognisable. A possible environment is not a promised release. New themes, titles and dates will be shared when approved.

Where we are now

The website presents the latest POMMARU and the Backyard Mystery layout preview and its real page previews. We are preparing the first release; the latest layout has 68 interior pages across 32 story-and-discovery sections; final production approval, price and delivery arrangements are still pending. Purchasing, subscriptions, working Secret Missions, narrated mission audio and dedicated educator packs are not open.

The public guides help families and educators understand the approach now. My POMMARU provides the grown-up account and in-app communication hub, with future-adventure interests and a separate Universe area. We will distinguish clearly between a concept, a preview and something available to use or buy.
